Check compatibility with 5 GHz band WiFi networks
WiFi networks operate on two types of band: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. 5GHz WiFi Tester is an application to find out if your Android is compatible with 5 GHz, the so-called 5G WiFi.
Check the compatibility of Android with 5G WiFi
This is a very easy to use app, which will quickly show if your device is compatible with 5G wifi networks. To do this, simply press the Check button in the main interface and it will quickly show you if your Android is compatible or not. If it is, the screen will be green and if not, it will be red.
In addition to this information, the app offers other data:
- Device manufacturer.
- Device model.
- Android version.
- Traffic statistics: downloaded data, uploaded data and transfer rates. All this combined or separated into wifi or mobile data traffic.
What is the difference between a 2.4 GHz band wifi and a 5 GHz band wifi?
Basically, in the data transfer rate, which is higher in 5 GHz networks, and in the range or recepction, which is better in 2.4 GHz networks. Neither is better than the other, but it may be convenient to use one or the other depending on the case: if the distance between the Wi-Fi access point and the cell phone is short, the 5 GHz will be better; if it is far away and there are obstacles such as walls or furniture, the 2.4 GHz is the best choice, although the transmission speed will be lower.
